Find out more about SCAN in this printable
1-page document.

SCAN  has included teachers from Central Falls, East Providence, and Westerly high schools in Rhode Island and researchers and instructional coaches  from the American Institutes for Research.

We are organized as a Networked Improvement Community (NIC) and use a continuous improvement process to develop, implement, test, and refine formative assessment practices in real time in the classroom setting.

NICs are action-oriented collaborations focused on measuring the effectiveness of small changes to address problems of practice. SCAN members work across schools, increasing the capacity of teachers to test many change ideas and collect data to inform practice in the schools and, ideally, beyond.
